GDPR day is finally upon us - are you ready? Elizabeth Denham, the Information Commissioner, has been at pains to explain this is not the ‘deadline’ for GDPR compliance. Today is the day the legislation takes effect, but the ICO recognises that businesses evolve and adapt and data protection and privacy polices will continually evolve too. So GDPR compliance is a journey, not a destination.
We’ve been busy reviewing how we process and use data. As a small organisation which prides itself on its personal touch, nothing much is changing as to how we handle your data. We’ve always placed huge importance on the trust our candidates and clients have in us to handle their personal information and how we represent them. We don’t store databases full of CVs. We would never speculatively send out someone's CV for a job we haven’t spoken to them about. Our whole business philosophy is based on understanding our clients and candidates aspirations, treating them as an individual and representing them an authentic way.
We have reviewed our privacy policy and security processes in the run up to today. GDPR gives you greater control over the information that organisations hold about you, including rights relating to being informed about what data is held and your right to ask an organisation to correct or delete your personal data. We have revised our privacy policy to reflect these changes. You can view our current privacy policy here and, of course, you can contact us at anytime if have questions relating to how we process your data.
We will keep on reviewing how we work towards ensuring our candidates and clients data and privacy is protected, whilst continuing to nurture our trusted business networks and providing excellent recruitment services - connecting the right people to the right opportunity.
