Overview

 

Reporting to the Marketing Director and based at Gfinity HQ in London, the Art Director will lead the development of contemporary Gfinity branding inline with marketing objectives. They will ensure high quality consistent creative execution across all channels. 

 

The ideal candidate will drive creative thinking and design processes across the company with the gaming community in mind, and will therefore be an engaged gamer, with a deep understanding of gaming culture and esports, including their visual language and tone of voice.  They will be a strong project manager who knows how to set up effective creative process delivery, utilising both internal and external resources. They will establish the organisational discipline of briefing, proofs and approval processes – both for internal and external stakeholders.

 

The Art Director will have strong management and leadership skills, be able to see the big picture, but also be hungry to roll up their sleeves and create amazing work themselves. They will have solid experience as a designer/senior designer and be looking to make the next step and be in charge of the creative process for a company in rapid “scale-up mode”. 

 

The Art Director will act as Brand Guardian, ensuring the Gfinity brand is vibrant and delivered consistently across all consumer and business touch points through owning the creative execution and tone of voice.  They will work with Marketing and Strategic Creative Agencies to ensure the brand guidelines and execution correspond to the company’s brand ambition, deliver on marketing objectives and drive target audiences engagement.

 

The role holder will drive the creative thinking process at Gfinity, ensuring the brand stays relevant for the key gamer communities and evolves to reflect the latest gaming trends.  They will deliver the design process so designs around consumer facing campaigns as well as B2B partner pitches are delivered on time and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities  

 

Brand: Evolution and Guidelines

  • Work with internal stakeholders and strategic creative agencies to deliver a set of graphics, taglines and formats for the Gfinity brand inline with marketing objectives

  • Ensure internal buy in across the business: Commercial, Production, Product Development

  • Work with an agency to deliver a set of guidelines for digital marketing (static, motion), offline marketing, content, broadcasting, web platforms, commercial and investor presentations – taking into account the platforms peculiarities and standards

  • Ensure the brand works across own consumer platforms, including Real Sport integration, as well as a part of co-branded partner projects, where Gfinity’s role is clearly visible – but adhering to partner brand guidelines

  • Test the concepts to ensure target consumer relevance and engagement

  • Be tapped into the gaming community and observe the competitive landscape across esports and gaming to ensure the brand creative remains relevant

 

Creative Process Management

  • Create a design delivery framework and process, including briefing, tracking and proofing

  • Own the process and ensure project management and timely high quality delivery

  • Create an external ecosystem of designers/agencies deeply integrated with Gfinity, with a great feel for the brand to scale up and down when necessary

  • Manage Gfinity and external designers to deliver the projects at high quality and on time

  • Plan and manage budgets 

  • Implement creative testing mechanisms across paid media and own platform, in cooperation with media agencies and Product Development team

 

Gfinity & Real Sport Consumer & Social Platforms

  • Together with Gfinity designers and freelancers create effective marketing assets across social and web platforms

Person Specification

 

  • An experienced designer/senior designer looking for that step up in accountability in a small but fast growing company

  • An experienced and effective project manager

  • An engaged gamer, with an understanding of gaming culture and esports

  • Calm under pressure

  • An excellent communicator, able to sell in creative ideas to colleagues and the senior leadership team

  • A strong manager with outstanding leadership skills, but also keen to roll up your sleeves and create amazing work yourself
